Job Title:

Project Engineer Leader

Key Responsibilities:
  • Defines the engineering organization structure, staffing and personnel roles with discipline departments.
  • Ensures technical compliance with contract review.
  • Participates in induction of engineering team to project requirements.
  • Provides instructions to the engineering team through project engineering guidelines and procedures.
  • Ensures issue, validation and maintenance of project equipment lists and/or key engineering documents.
  • Ensures effective interdisciplinary coordination through weekly meetings. Takes necessary technical decisions in case of unresolved conflicts between disciplines.
  • Supervises the issue of engineering deliverables and approves key engineering documents.
  • Participates in project planning definition by providing engineering milestones and requirements.
  • Ensures engineering activity is compliant with project milestones. Alerts project management in case of unforeseen variations and suggests mitigation measures.
  • Ensures effective technical coordination with clients' representatives and participates in good communication with clients.
  • Consolidates engineering budgets based on discipline departments' budgets and controls it during the course of the project. Alerts project management in case of variations and suggests mitigation measures.
  • Supervises initiation and maintenance of project files.
  • Leads and attends design and safety reviews and supervises follow-up of outcomes.
  • Contributes to project reporting for the engineering part (activities, quantities, budget, areas of concern).
  • Participates in contract management by initiating, collecting and consolidating variation requests and change orders.
  • Participates in risk management for engineering concerns.
  • Initiates value engineering and best practices.
  • Ensures that the engineering final dossier is properly prepared and filed and that lessons learned for engineering are clearly identified.
Requirements:
  • High level of technical expertise.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
