Job Title: Software Engineering Manager

This is a mid-senior level full-time position in the field of engineering and information technology, specifically in software development.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced software engineering manager to lead our team in delivering high-quality products. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in technical roles with Linux, preferably Ubuntu or Debian.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in STEM, preferably computer science or software engineering, and excellent leadership skills. They will be responsible for recruiting, motivating, mentoring, and enabling their team to succeed in delivering quality products.

The manager will set goals with the team, prioritize tasks, identify, and measure team health indicators. They will also coordinate with project managers, HWE, QA, and certification management, and monitor projects from kickoff to post-mortem and handle escalations.

The software engineering manager will provide leadership for methodologies, strategies, standards, tools, and best practices. They will communicate effectively with OEMs, ODMs, SiPs, IHVs, and collaborate with product engineering teams, including Desktop, Foundations, Kernel, and Security.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in STEM, preferably computer science or software engineering.
  • Proven track record in technical roles with Linux, preferably Ubuntu or Debian.
  • Commitment to development and testing methodologies, and maintainable code quality.
  • Experience with management responsibilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to be productive in a globally distributed team through self-discipline and self-motivation.
  • Commitment and energy to deliver on schedule.
