The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Electrical Engineering Manager. As Head of Discipline, you will oversee a team of skilled engineers and technicians, driving innovation in electrical systems design for naval platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing the Electrical Team to achieve program objectives.
  • Developing and implementing Systems Engineering Management Plans and related engineering plans.
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance on major bids and projects.
  • Collaborating with other Functional Managers to forecast Work in Progress and future workload.
  • Maintaining a Level 2 or equivalent Engineering Authority in Electrical Engineering.
  • Promoting AWS products and services throughout the industry.
  • Driving engineering activities from needs analysis to solution development and verification.
  • Generating optimized solution architectures and conducting trade studies.
  • Performing the role of Principal Design Authority (PDA) as required.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in electrical engineering and managing engineering teams.
  • A proven track record in leading and delivering complex engineering projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge and expertise in electrical systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Level 2 or equivalent Engineering Authority in Electrical Engineering (desired).
  • Experience in the defence industry or naval platforms (desired).
