Job Description

Our team is seeking a curator with expertise in Asian art to join our department. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in developing and managing our Asian Art collection.


The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development of the Asian Art collection, including acquisitions and collections management processes. They will also contribute to the planning, research, and coordination of displays and exhibitions in accordance with departmental requirements.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing strategies for the growth and maintenance of the Asian Art collection
  • Collaborating with colleagues to plan and coordinate exhibitions and displays
  • Undertaking administrative duties, including maintaining accurate records and drafting correspondence
  • Contributing to relevant Curatorial and Audience Engagement initiatives

Requirements:

  1. Specialist knowledge of Asian art supplemented with a related tertiary qualification
  2. Direct or transferrable experience in curatorial practice, exhibition and project management, publishing or research within a related setting
