About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Enterprise Crisis Manager to join our team at ANZ. As a key member of our crisis management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the bank's preparedness and resilience in the face of unexpected events and emergencies.

Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement crisis management plans that encompass various scenarios and potential risks. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that plans are comprehensive and actionable, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to maintain transparency and manage expectations during crises.

In addition to developing and implementing crisis management plans, you will also be responsible for leading proactive crisis preparedness efforts. This will involve conducting risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities, and developing internal stakeholder communication strategies to maintain transparency and manage expectations during crises.

You will also be responsible for conducting training and simulation exercises to raise awareness and prepare stakeholders/staff for crisis scenarios. This will involve organizing and facilitating regular training sessions and simulations, reviewing performance during exercises, and identifying areas for improvement in crisis response.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for managing incident response, developing and implementing processes for immediate response to incidents, and acting decisively as the primary point of contact during crises.

Finally, you will participate in post-crisis reviews to assess response effectiveness, identify lessons learned, and recommend improvements to crisis management plans and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement crisis management plans that encompass various scenarios and potential risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that plans are comprehensive and actionable.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop internal stakeholder communication strategies to maintain transparency and manage expectations during crises.
  • Conduct training and simulation exercises to raise awareness and prepare stakeholders/staff for crisis scenarios.
  • Manage incident response and develop processes for immediate response to incidents.
  • Participate in post-crisis reviews to assess response effectiveness and recommend improvements.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in crisis management, emergency response, or a related field at an Enterprise level.
  • Relevant professional certifications or qualifications in business continuity management, risk management, emergency management, or a related field are desirable.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Effective understanding of the financial services industry and current and proposed financial services regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills, capable of making critical decisions under pressure and guiding teams through complex and challenging situations.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal, with the capacity to interact confidently and convey information clearly and effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
  • Successful track record of internal and external senior stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience in delivering training or exercising small groups of people from cross-functional areas.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities to anticipate potential issues and devise proactive solutions.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to manage evolving situations and changing priorities.
