
Family Violence Response Specialist

Empowering Individuals and Communities in the Fight Against Domestic Family Violence.
The Research Specialist plays a key role in enhancing response to domestic family violence by empowering individuals and organisations with tools and resources they need to support survivors and prevent violence. In this position, you will lead research projects, evaluate program effectiveness, collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement cutting-edge initiatives that address complex challenges of domestic family violence.
Key Responsibilities:

- Engage with evidence based service development and roll out new models or approaches to improve service delivery towards multicultural communities in context of DFSV.
- Engage in research projects and research issues relevant to working with DFSV victim survivors from migrant and refugee backgrounds, including demographic changes and trends observed within different communities and migration patterns.
- Establish relationships with DFSV research bodies such as universities, key researchers in field with aim to increase research output that takes into consideration multicultural communities.
- Hold consultations with sector staff and communities to enrich understanding of DFSV in context of DFSV and participate in consultations held by others.
- Participate in broader activities of the organisation, division the role sits within.
- Other duties as directed from time to time within your skills range and capacity.
Essential Criteria:

- Considerable understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies that allow for engagement in research projects.
- Research to practice translation skills suitable for service development activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills relevant to holding effective consultations and submission writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships with internal & external stakeholders.
- Multicultural background or extensive experience in multicultural services sector.
- Solid understanding of gender based violence and drivers of DFSV desirable.
- Bilingual/bicultural desirable.
