Are you ready to drive strategic people initiatives that support business outcomes? Hobsons Bay Council is seeking a proactive and experienced HR Business Partner to join our People & Culture team.

This is your opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your expertise will directly support the teams that build, maintain, and enrich our vibrant community.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Building strong relationships with department leaders to understand their services and workforce needs
  • Ensuring process compliance with Fair Work and other legislative requirements
  • Providing high-level advice and coaching on complex HR/ER matters
  • Contributing to strategic HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Preparing high-quality reports, briefs, and correspondence
  • SUPPORTING PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT, CULTURE CHANGE, AND EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or related discipline or lesser formal qualifications with substantial experience in Human Resources
  • SOUND KNOWLEDGE OF BEST PRACTICE HR/ER CASE MANAGEMENT, CONFLICT RESOLUTION, AND SUPPORTING PEOPLE EMPLOYEES THROUGH CHANGE
  • Demonstrated experience navigating complex legislation such as the Fair Work Act, Equal Opportunity Act, and Occupational Health & Safety frameworks
  • A track record of implementing people-related process improvements that enhance compliance, efficiency, and employee engagement
  • Strong advisory and coaching skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across all levels of the organisation

Benefits include:

  • Salary: Band 7 + super, commensurate with experience
