Senior Building Inspector Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Inspector to join our team.

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and training to junior inspectors, ensuring compliance with building codes and standards.
  • They will also assist in approving scopes for rectification of defective construction work, oversee payments to contractors, and provide evidence in tribunals and courts.
  • In addition, they will contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Other key responsibilities include managing a caseload, conducting investigations, and preparing detailed reports on complaints related to defective building work.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as experience working in a technical environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A Builder's License is mandatory, along with a current Driver's License and a good driving record.
  • Candidates must also possess excellent interpersonal, consultative, negotiation, and mediation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills are essential.
