Senior Building Authority Figure

A seasoned Building Inspector is required to provide leadership and expertise in the management of building standards. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of regulatory policies, procedures, and legislation related to building work.
This pivotal role involves managing a team, driving high performance, and overseeing complex investigations into defective building work. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing training and mentoring to ensure ongoing compliance with building codes, Australian Standards, and regulatory policies.
- Assisting in approving scopes for rectification of defective and incomplete residential construction work.
- Conducting investigations and preparing detailed reports on complaints related to defective building work.
To be eligible for this position, candidates must hold qualifications to be licensed as a Builder by the QBCC in Queensland. Additionally, they must possess a current Driver's License and have a good driving record for frequent travel across the state.
The ideal candidate will also demonstrate strong interpersonal, consultative, negotiation, and mediation skills, as well as high level investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Building Inspector will be responsible for managing a case load, conducting investigations, and preparing detailed reports. They will also be involved in the development, implementation, and review of policies, procedures, and systems.
