We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our International Tax Advisory team at Pitcher Partners Australia. This role will involve providing commercial tax solutions to clients with international dealings, working directly with business owners and key stakeholders to deliver successful projects.

About the Role

The Tax Manager will be responsible for delivering technical tax advice to clients, managing and coaching junior team members, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to achieve business outcomes. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of tax issues, including tax treaty matters, attribution issues, withholding taxes, and thin capitalisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality technical tax advice to clients, including restructuring of entities with cross-border considerations, corporate and individual tax residency advice, and foreign hybrid mismatch advice.
  • Work closely with clients to establish cross-border business structures and review international dealings schedules and tax returns.
  • Build and cultivate client relationships, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and coach and support junior team members.
  • Engage in business development opportunities and contribute to the delivery of successful client projects.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in accounting, law, or a relevant business field, and 4-6+ years of experience in the application of international taxation matters in a professional environment.
  • Proven experience in delivering commercial taxation advice to clients with international dealings, and the ability to produce well-researched and clearly articulated tax opinions and advice.
  • Positive team player with the ability to contribute to the delivery of successful client projects, and manage and coach junior team members.
  • Effective communicator, able to build rapport, influence, and negotiate effectively with both internal and external clients when required.
