About the Role

We are seeking experienced Signalling Construction Managers to lead the conversion and design elements of rail projects in NSW and WA. As part of a multi-skilled team, you will work to deliver projects within Australia, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and safe delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager/Project Leader to manage client expectations.
  • Manage interactions with authorities and utilities across project phases.
  • Develop a design procurement strategy with the Project Leader and Project Engineer to ensure consultants understand project drivers.
  • Engage cost planners to develop a cost plan and work with them to design within budget.
  • Support the Project Manager/Project Leader in developing a conversion program, including project issues related to revenue, clients, authorities, design, procurement, and delivery.
  • Identify and understand key risks and opportunities to optimize Laing O'Rourke's position.
  • Prepare project client reporting documentation in a PCG format and attend PCG meetings.
  • Ensure works are completed in accordance with client quality requirements and Australian standards/codes.

About You

  • Hold a degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or Construction Management, with a focus on delivering projects with multi-stakeholder interfaces.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the Rail Signalling sector.
  • Knowledge of Railway Engineering standards and specifications.
  • Knowledge of modern signalling technology.
  • Knowledge of Signalling Principles.
  • Experience in managing teams for delivery phase construction.
  • Understanding of design, problem-solving capabilities, and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and understand the importance of relationships.
