Job Title:

Disability Inclusion Program Coordinator

Role Summary:

The Disability Inclusion Program Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the implementation and delivery of Disability Inclusion programs. They work closely with external service providers, parents/guardians, and school-based staff to develop Individual Education Plans, implement adjustments, and conduct Student Support Group meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of Disability Inclusion programs aligned with DET requirements and the 3-tiered funding model.
  • Liaise with teaching and education support staff responsible for delivering educational adjustments and targeted support for Tier 2 and 3 students.
  • Assist in managing the transition of current PSD funded students to a Disability Inclusion Profile.
  • Under the guidance of the Leading Teacher:
    • Provide support and guidance in developing individual education plans for students with functional needs.
    • Develop and implement adjustments to support students with functional needs.
    • Ensure students have a voice and agency in plan development and the SSG process.
  • Attend SSGs for students and build staff capacity to understand, develop, and implement adjustments.
  • Support the Inclusion Team to prepare and gather information for Disability Inclusion profile meetings.
  • Maintain close working relationships with Sub School, Inclusion, and Wellbeing Teams.
  • Participate in the Student Wellbeing Committee and undertake other duties as directed by the Principal.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to perform duties consistent with established Disability Inclusion guidelines and frameworks.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide high-level oral and written communication skills.
  • Possession of technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position.
  • Capacity to provide advice and support to management and other school staff on inclusive education.
  • Capacity to provide high-level administrative support in preparing for Disability Inclusion Profile Meetings and liaising with stakeholders.
