
Diversity and Inclusion Educator

As a key member of our school community, you will play a vital role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students.
- Develop and implement tailored learning plans that meet the unique requirements of students with diverse needs, including those with learning difficulties, physical or intellectual disabilities, and English as an Additional Language (EAL) requirements.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other specialists to ensure a holistic approach to learning that prioritises student-centred outcomes.
- Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to students, tailoring teaching strategies to meet their individual needs and promote academic excellence.
- Monitor student progress, analyse data, and adjust learning plans accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes for all students.
- Liaise with external agencies and service providers to coordinate additional support for students and foster a collaborative approach to education.
- Contribute to the development and review of our school's inclusion and diversity policies, ensuring that they are aligned with best practices in inclusive education.
Requirements:
- A teaching qualification and registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT), along with a recognised qualification in Special Education or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience working as a specialist teacher or learning support professional in a secondary school setting.
- In-depth knowledge of teaching strategies and learning support programs for students with diverse needs, including adaptive technology and assistive devices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and support staff.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on personalised approaches that cater to the unique needs of each student.
- Passion for inclusive education and a commitment to supporting the personal and academic growth of all students.
