Mental Health Division Bed Access Coordinator

At Northern Health Authority, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Nurse to take on the challenging role of Bed Access Coordinator within our Mental Health Division.
About the OpportunityThis is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual to join our team and make a significant impact in shaping the future of mental health care. As Bed Access Coordinator, you will be responsible for implementing innovative bed management methodologies that support the development of contemporary healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Bed Management: Ensure optimal access to adult and aged acute local bed stock, promoting person-centered, transparent, and timely decision-making.
- Leadership: Collaborate with the Executive Director Mental Health to drive the implementation of the Mental Health Division's progress plan.
- Communication: Develop and maintain effective relationships with relevant staff across the organization to ensure seamless communication and cooperation.
- Problem-Solving: Utilize advanced problem-solving skills to address complex issues related to bed block and access, ensuring fair, equitable, and transparent outcomes.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in acute care bed-based management, preferably in a mental health setting.
- Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field, with postgraduate qualifications preferred.
- Certifications: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Skills: Advanced communication and problem-solving skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and strong leadership capabilities.
- Competitive Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
