Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Healthscope. As a key member of our ward leadership team, you will play a vital role in supporting the Nurse Unit Manager with staffing, coordination, and patient flow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be an integral part of the ward leadership team, supporting the Nurse Unit Manager with staffing, coordination, and patient flow.
  • Portfolio responsibilities in line with National Quality and Health Service (NSQHS) standards.
  • Work closely with the Manager to facilitate quality nursing care to our valued patients.
  • Supervise, direct, and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to deliver patient care.
  • Coordinate and monitor the planning, implementation, and evaluation of service outcomes and nursing care standards.
  • Work closely with our VMOs and other members of the health team to identify patient care needs, plan interventions, and review outcomes of care.
  • Maintain accurate and legally appropriate documentation of nursing services.
  • Be a strong role model, mentor, and coach to other registered nurses in excellent clinical practice.
  • Act as a role model for Safe Practice.

Essential Criteria:

  • Current unrestricted AHPRA registration.
  • Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience working within an acute medical oncology setting, with experience in antineoplastic therapies.
  • Relevant Postgraduate qualifications or working towards is required.
  • Completion of ADAC modules for chemotherapy administration.
  • Experience and a comprehensive clinical knowledge, particularly to oncology-related health issues with a proven ability to assess, plan, coordinate, and evaluate care delivery needs of patients.
  • Clinical expertise and commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of the National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to show initiative and work within a team environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
