Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist - Oncology

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Oncology, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our oncology services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to support staffing, coordination, and patient flow.
  • Develop and implement portfolio responsibilities in line with National Quality and Health Service (NSQHS) standards.
  • Supervise and direct nursing team members to deliver patient care.
  • Coordinate and monitor the planning, implementation, and evaluation of service outcomes and nursing care standards.
  • Collaborate with VMOs and other health team members to identify patient care needs, plan interventions, and review outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and legally appropriate documentation of nursing services.
  • Act as a role model, mentor, and coach to other registered nurses in excellent clinical practice.
Essential Criteria:
  • Current unrestricted AHPRA registration.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in an acute medical oncology setting, with experience in antineoplastic therapies.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications or working towards.
  • Completion of ADAC modules for chemotherapy administration.
  • Experience and comprehensive clinical knowledge in oncology-related health issues, with a proven ability to assess, plan, coordinate, and evaluate care delivery needs.
  • Clinical expertise and commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of the National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to show initiative and work within a team environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
