Sexual Assault Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to provide high-quality trauma-informed clinical support to victim-survivors of sexual assault and children with harmful sexual behaviours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide confidential and non-judgmental support to clients, acknowledging their experiences and validating their emotions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, working collaboratively with clients to address their unique needs and goals.
  • Cultivate a safe and supportive environment, prioritizing the well-being and dignity of all clients.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records, ensuring confidentiality and adhering to legal and ethical standards.
  • Prioritize self-care and seek supervision when needed, recognizing the potential for secondary trauma.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., counseling, social work, psychology).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in providing trauma-informed services, preferably in a sexual assault support context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse populations.
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed principles, including safety, trust, choice, collaboration, empowerment, and normalization.
  • Familiarity with local resources and community services, with the ability to connect clients with relevant support networks.
