Business Planner Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Business Planner to join our team at Spotlight Group Holdings. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Business Manager and Buyers to develop and execute short- and long-term strategies that drive business growth and profitability.
  • Utilize data to inform smart decisions, analyzing sales, stock, GMROI, and margins to optimize inventory management and replenishment processes.
  • Provide sharp analyses and guidance to teams to maximize sales and margins while maintaining healthy inventory levels.
  • Oversee allocation processes and work with analysts to set replenishment parameters to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Unleash your analytical expertise to gather and dissect data across purchasing, inventory, marketing, and sales, using your insights to influence marketing plans and uncover hidden opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships and work hand-in-hand with internal teams and vendors to achieve both operational and strategic goals.
  • Coach and mentor the Inventory Analyst, helping them excel and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Lead the biannual Category Performance Review, spearhead forward planning initiatives, and secure sign-off from stakeholders.
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day and week-to-week execution of sales and marketing plans.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience as a Planner in Retail.
  • Extensive Analytical and Reporting experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of retail operations, large store formats / category killers and bulky good formats.
  • Strong ability to interpret data and results.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and computer skills.
  • Strong with Microsoft Excel.
  • Any experience with Home Décor or relevant category will be desirable.
