
Youth Care Specialist

The role of a Residential Youth Worker is to provide holistic care and support to young people in crisis accommodation. This position requires a team player who can work within a Trauma-Informed Practice model to foster positive relationships with clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inducting clients into the service and developing tailored plans for their needs
- Building strong, professional relationships with young people and adhering to boundaries of care practice
- Supporting clients to achieve their goals and develop essential living skills
- Maintaining high standards of conduct and contributing to program success
- Updating case notes and ensuring compliance with record-keeping procedures
- Monitoring personal care and hygiene and providing guidance as needed
- Collaborating with the team to manage complex youth cases
- Delivering educational groups and recreational activities
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in Youth Work or Community Services - minimum certificate IV
- Prior experience working with youth and homelessness, with a sound understanding of related issues
- Demonstrated expertise in working with young people with complex needs
- Compliance with the Code of Ethics for Youth Workers in WA
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
- Proficiency in Microsoft programs
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
- COVID-19 vaccination evidence required
- Valid Driver's Licence
