Supporting Independence in Disability Care

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Disability Support Worker. In this role, you will be working with a 40-year-old man living with Spinal Cord Injury and Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). Your primary focus will be on providing person-centered support that enables him to maintain his independence and live a fulfilling life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assistance with personal care, including complex bowel care and catheter management
  • Preparation of meals tailored to the participant's dietary needs
  • Safe transfers using hoists to ensure minimal risk of injury
  • Execution of the participant's care plan, which may involve administering medications and monitoring vital signs
Requirements:
  • Understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and commitment to its principles
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate and current Australian driver's license
  • Experience in complex bowel care is essential for this role
