Underground Mining Technical Leadership Role\We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our underground technical team and drive the continued success of our Broken Hill mine. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic and technical guidance across mine planning, geology, survey, ventilation, and other technical functions.\This role requires strong technical knowledge and leadership skills to ensure the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of our mine. You will play a critical role in shaping the short and long-term success of our underground operation by driving innovation, improving processes, and fostering collaboration between operations, maintenance, and technical teams.\The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underground mining and extensive experience in managing technical services teams. They will possess excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills, as well as a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.\Key Responsibilities:\

  • Lead and mentor a team of technical professionals to achieve production and business targets.\
  • Provide strategic and technical input into life-of-mine planning and operational decision-making.\
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, safety standards, and company policies.\
  • Foster collaboration between operations, maintenance, and technical teams to optimise performance.\
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, and cost management.
\Requirements:\

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or related discipline.\
  • Extensive experience in underground hard rock mining (preferably base metals).\
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing technical services teams.\
  • Strong knowledge of mine planning, design, and scheduling.\
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.\
  • A commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
