Leadership Opportunity in Aboriginal Maternal Health Care

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Midwifery Specialist to lead and mentor midwives in our team, providing trusted care to Aboriginal women and families.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing case management of women receiving care at the Westmead MCP, mentoring and supporting midwives employed in Dragonfly Midwifery Caseload Practice (MCP) at Westmead Hospital, and liaising with Clinical Midwifery Educators to ensure excellence in midwifery practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee case management of women receiving care in the Westmead MCP.
  • Mentor/support midwives employed in Dragonfly Midwifery Caseload Practice (MCP) at Westmead Hospital.
  • Liaise with WMH Clinical Midwifery Educators.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess advanced clinical skills and exercise extended autonomy of decision making. You will also have a strong understanding of the broader Aboriginal Health issues, including demonstrated understanding of the unique medical, physical, social, and emotional issues in Aboriginal maternal and infant health.
