About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our culinary team in preparing high-quality meals that cater to the diverse needs and preferences of our residents. With a focus on food safety, hygiene, and presentation, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences that bring joy to our residents' lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the culinary team to ensure efficient meal preparation and service delivery
  • Develop and implement menu plans that meet the nutritional needs and dietary requirements of our residents
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and presentation in all aspects of kitchen operations
  • Collaborate with chefs and other staff members to plan and deliver special events and occasions
  • Monitor and control food costs to optimize budget efficiency
  • Recruit, train, and develop a skilled and motivated culinary team
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a cook or senior chef in a commercial catering or aged care environment
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff
  • Sound knowledge of food safety, nutrition, and menu planning principles
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
