
Lead Case Coordinator

The Case Officer plays a critical role in supporting the case management process by ensuring matters are jurisdictionally sound, procedurally complete, and ready for hearing.
This involves conducting jurisdiction checks, preparing cases, and ensuring all necessary documentation and procedural steps are completed efficiently. By ensuring matters are properly prepared, the Case Officer contributes to reducing inefficiencies and delays in hearings and resolutions.
- Liaise with applicants, respondents, legal representatives, and internal teams to resolve procedural issues prior to hearings.
- Support Tribunal Members by ensuring cases are hearing-ready, improving overall caseflow efficiency.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records within VCAT's case management system.
To be successful in this role, high attention to detail, analytical skills, and knowledge of VCAT's rules and procedures are essential to effectively manage cases before they proceed to hearing. Experience in case management in a legal, tribunal, or government setting is desirable.
This role requires individuals who can work independently and as part of a team to achieve outstanding results. They must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to analyze complex information, and make sound decisions.
