Derivatives Analyst

This role plays a critical part in ensuring regulatory compliance and risk management for derivatives activities. You will work closely with stakeholders to provide oversight, feedback, and recommendations to ensure robust controls and effective risk management.

  • Develop and conduct monitoring of derivatives activities within Australian operations.
  • Act as the second line of defence, monitoring controls and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Review client communications, providing feedback to employees to ensure regulatory compliance and best practice.
  • Perform compliance monitoring, report results, and recommend improvements to derivatives activities and controls.
  • Collaborate with Business Analytics team to develop and maintain derivatives data warehouse using Power BI.
  • Apply strong monitoring practices through interviews, file reviews, data analysis, document checks, and review of recorded conversations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Identify emerging risks and trends, and provide timely monitoring reports highlighting these areas, along with recommendations for management action.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 1+ year of experience with derivatives, ideally in FX options.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter while contributing effectively in a team environment.
  • Confident communicator, able to engage with Sales and other stakeholders in a commercially minded manner.
