
Strategic Policy Adviser

**Job Overview:** The Principal Adviser plays a pivotal role in leading a project to enhance the department's capability and performance regarding gender equality obligations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-level policy advice on complex matters relating to DJSIR's portfolios. This includes working closely with subject matter experts from across the department.
The team collaborates to support delivery of sustainable economic development and employment growth, contributing to the department's strategic priorities throughout the policy and project lifecycle.
We seek an experienced professional who can lead the Gender Impact Assessment uplift project at the direction of the Deputy Secretary. The ideal candidate possesses strong project management skills and conceptual and analytical abilities.
In this role, you'll design, oversee, and conduct data analysis, evidence collation, and stakeholder interviews to analyze complex problems and provide authoritative advice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing strategies to improve the department's capability and systems
- Providing high-level policy advice on complex matters relating to DJSIR's portfolios
- Working closely with subject matter experts to enhance the department's performance regarding gender equality obligations
**Requirements:** To be successful in this role, you'll need:

- Conceptual and analytical abilities, with a focus on gender equality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders
