Indigenous Employment Specialist

The Indigenous Employment Specialist plays a vital role in fostering connections between our First Nations staff and operational teams to ensure long-term employment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mentoring of existing First Nations employees - Coaching and guidance for Indigenous staff members on career development, training opportunities, personal support, and workplace assistance.
  • Onboarding of new First Nations employees - Introductions and post-placement support including assistance with systems and processes as necessary.
  • Analysis of data and administration - We seek an admin expert who excels in capturing data, stories, career plans, and mentoring frameworks.
  • Facilitation of the Making Tracks Program - The flagship employment program has brought over 150 First Nations people into the security industry. We need you to continue this success.
  • Community Engagement - Representing the organization in the community, building awareness of our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and potential opportunities for collaboration.
  • Championing the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and Project Participation - Actively championing the organization's RAP by advocating for and supporting its commitments across the organization. Contribute to national and local project initiatives to drive meaningful outcomes for First Nations peoples.

This position requires regular travel between sites to engage with Indigenous staff, including travel between states as needed.
