An opportunity exists for a skilled Human Resources Officer to join our cohesive and close-knit HR team. With over 35 years of experience in providing secure and affordable housing, we are seeking a talented individual to provide proactive advice on human resources generalist matters.
The role of the Human Resource Officer is multifaceted, requiring the ability to provide support with human resource, work, health and safety, and training and development functions. This includes recruitment and selection, learning and development, performance management, industrial relations, and return to work initiatives. The successful candidate will also contribute to strategic HR projects, working collaboratively with the team to achieve our goals.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Managing the end-to-end recruitment and selection process for vacant and new positions, utilizing JobAdder software in accordance with our policies and procedures.
- Providing information to potential applicants about the recruitment process and preparing interview packs.
- Conducting reference and pre-employment checks, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Managing employee orientation activities, including letters of offer, new starter documentation, and creation of personnel files.
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will possess:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or relevant experience.
- Return to Work Qualifications &/or experience.
- A current unrestricted NSW drivers licence.
- Demonstrated experience in providing timely and accurate advice on human resource practices and procedures.
- Demonstrated understanding of human resources and work, health & safety systems, processes, and best practice customer service.
- Experience in delivering presentations or facilitating training to small groups.
- Proven ability to interpret legislation, regulations, awards, industrial agreements, and policies and procedures.
- Computer literacy, with a sound working knowledge of MS Office (WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK).
