Data and Telecommunications Technician

This is a challenging role that requires experience in data cabling, telecommunications, and electrical systems.

We are seeking experienced installers to join our team and work on structured cabling projects, nurse call system installations, and security/CCTV systems. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of wiring configurations, terminations, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Installing internal communications and data cabling for computer networks, telephone, cable television, and security and fire alarms
  • Installing telecom equipment, devices, and appliances such as landline telephones, switchboards, data transmission equipment, and other related items
  • Setting up new telecommunications frames and connecting PC, monitors, interface devices, or peripherals like WI-FI, switches, and routers
  • Connecting systems with security or fire systems, providing new installations or replacements, maintenance or repair of already existing systems
  • Locating faults in equipment and appliances using electronic instruments, responsible for testing and troubleshooting of cables, measuring characteristics of wiring cables, and printing protocols

To be successful in this position, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Cabling Open Licence or at least two years of relevant experience in the data and telecommunication industry
  • NSW Occupational Health & Safety Card (White Card)
  • Valid Driver Licence and clear Police Check
