The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an HR Specialist to join the team in the Barwon South West Region.

About the role

This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with the HR Business Partner and HR Officer to provide a full range of human resources services.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing consultancy advice, guidance and solutions to management and staff on a broad range of human resource issues including policies, frameworks, processes, employment conditions, performance management, OH&S, recruitment, learning and development, workforce planning, talent management, succession planning and HR legislation.
  • Liaising with administrative and custodial staff and other relevant individuals/groups with regard to industrial and employee relations issues, escalating more complex cases as required.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in generalist human resources functions.
  • Experience in providing advice on workplace matters, performance management, workplace change and employee development.

Qualifications or equivalent experience in Human Resources is desirable.

Key requirements include:

  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
