Job Overview

The Team Lead Invasive Species, Plant Health & Travelling Stock Reserves (TSR) role involves leading a team of biosecurity professionals in delivering pest animal programs, TSR management, plant biosecurity and emergency responses across the Murray region.

">Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in a discipline relevant to the primary industries portfolio and/or equivalent experience in leadership and management of services to primary industries
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive change and lead teams toward effective, innovative outcomes
  • Proven experience in program-level strategy development, operational planning, and budget management is not required but preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of the economic and environmental impacts of pest animals and weeds on land use
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills to support delivery of biosecurity and invasive species control programs
  • Appropriate qualifications and experience relevant to pesticide application
  • Capacity to hold a NSW firearms licence and a Statement of Attainment in the safe and humane use of firearms (AQF units AHCVPT203A, AHCPMG304)
  • Eligibility and willingness to become an Authorised Officer under the Biosecurity Act 2015
  • Certificate IV in Government Investigations, or the ability to successfully complete the qualification
  • Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence and the ability and willingness to travel throughout the region
