This role oversees pest animal and weed control programs in the Murray region.

It involves leading a team of biosecurity professionals to deliver services to primary industries, with a focus on invasive species management, plant health, and travelling stock reserve management.

They will also need to have a demonstrated understanding of the economic and environmental impacts of pest animals and weeds on land use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee core services budget
  • Lead regional strategic plans development and implementation for pest animals and high priority weeds
  • Engage a geographically dispersed and technically skilled team to implement pest animal, TSR work and weed control programs
  • Apply continual improvement strategies to drive innovation and change into control programs

About You:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a discipline relevant to the primary industries portfolio
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive change and lead teams toward effective outcomes
  • Proven experience in program-level strategy development, operational planning, and budget management
  • Demonstrated understanding of the economic and environmental impacts of pest animals and weeds on land use
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
