Job Description:

The role of the Volunteer Meal Deliverer involves providing nutritionally balanced meals to individuals in need, aiming to maintain them in their own homes and prevent early admission into residential care.

This position reports directly to the Branch Coordinator.

  • Deliver meals to clients in a timely and safe manner.
  • If any issues arise or changes are noticed in a recipient's well-being, report this to the Branch Coordinator promptly.
  • Provide social contact for people who may be socially and emotionally isolated.
  • Offer feedback for the purpose of monitoring clients in their homes.
  • Maintain regular contact and build ongoing relationships with clients to facilitate communication between clients and the service.
  • Verify delivery sheets with MoWTAS staff when necessary.
  • Distribute and collect client menu sheets, as well as other documents from time to time.
  • Meet the position's workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Adhere to any lawful and reasonable directions given by the State Office.

This role necessitates good oral and written communication skills, customer liaison skills, an outgoing friendly personality, a caring attitude, and the ability to relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds. You must also possess the capacity to respect and maintain client privacy and confidentiality, work independently with minimal direct supervision, and demonstrate compassion and understanding towards people with varying values and lifestyles.

Experience working in community or aged care sectors is highly regarded and beneficial.
