Cook Assistant

Glenview Community Services are a leading Tasmanian aged care provider based in Hobart's northern suburbs. We are part of our community and provide a diverse suite of services, from tailored home care to our state-of-the-art purpose-built dementia care village.

We currently have permanent part-time vacancies in our catering team for enthusiastic and experienced catering staff.

The Cook Assistant works alongside our Head Cook to prepare tasty and nutritious meals for our resident across both our sites at Windsor Street and Korongee Dementia Village. You will be given the opportunity to develop your cooking skills under the supervision of our Chef Manager who is passionate about developing the skills of his team.

Essential requirements

• A genuine passion for cooking and a desire to make difference in the lives of older Australians.

• Relevant trade qualifications or catering experience

• Experience working in a commercial kitchen.

• Demonstrated understanding of food safety requirements in the aged care setting.

• Demonstrated understanding of IDDSI Framework for food and fluid textures and thickness.

Essential criteria for this role include:

• Satisfactory National Police Check valid within 12 months

• Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration (NDIS Endorsed)

• Eligibility to work in Australia

• Covid-19 vaccination including booster

• Current season Influenza vaccination
