About the role
We are excited to announce an opening for the Finance Business Partner position at Orica. In this crucial role, you will work closely with sub-region and functional management teams to provide financial expertise that maximises shareholder value. As the primary finance interface, you will collaborate with the local leadership team to deliver insights into performance and drive accountability across the management team.
To succeed in this role, you must have an impeccable reputation for integrity and ethics, with the ability to build trust internally and externally. This role offers an excellent opportunity to influence our business's financial strategy and success.
Key Responsibilities
Contract and Bid Management
- Work with regional and functional teams to maximise contract value, including identifying unprofitable contracts and maximising variation management opportunities.
- Ensure financial bid models accurately reflect business inputs for new or changing proposals submitted by the Account Management team.
Financial Reviews and Performance
- Conduct regular commercial reviews to understand cost and value concepts and take actions to improve overall returns.
- Provide financial advice to projects, business improvement initiatives, and manage working capital and cash flow.
- Evaluate and manage financial performance for the business unit, ensuring compliance with Group standards.
Stakeholder and Reporting Support
- Influence key stakeholders to ensure optimum outcomes.
- Support the accuracy and compliance of monthly reporting processes, forecasting, and budget submissions for various functions.
- Assist in monitoring and controlling fixed costs, analysing cost drivers, and determining critical activities.
Capital and Financial Management
- Ensure capital requests are supported by robust financial models and commercial business cases.
- Challenge assumptions in capital expenditure proposals and hold teams accountable for delivering on those assumptions.
Operational and Educational Support
- Address deviations from acceptable performance levels promptly and ensure relevant team members are held accountable.
- Provide detailed financial knowledge and advice, including education on Orica's financial systems.
- Drive accuracy in budgeting and forecasting input for the business.
Compliance and Meetings
- Ensure compliance with Group standards and attend Site SH&E meetings as required by the SHE Charter.
Requirements
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with:
Key Qualifications
- 2+ years of post-graduate experience in accounting or finance (or a related discipline)
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Business discipline
- Professional designation: CA, CMA, or CPA (or nearly qualified)
- Experience in a large, global business
- Experience with SAP and SAP Hana
