About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity to become a vital part of Arcare, a renowned aged care provider. As a Cook, you will play a significant role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by delivering delicious and nutritious meals that cater to their unique needs.

With a focus on fostering positive dining experiences, you will work closely with the Head Chef to prepare appealing and well-balanced meals that meet the specific dietary requirements of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meal Preparation: You will be responsible for preparing meals according to designed menus, ensuring they are not only nutritious but also visually appealing and tailored to individual residents' needs.
  • Special Diets: Accommodating special dietary requirements, such as texture-modified diets, will be essential in catering to the unique health conditions and preferences of our residents.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene: Maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards is crucial to prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
  • Quality Control: Monitoring the quality of ingredients and finished dishes will ensure they meet high standards in taste, appearance, and portion sizes.
  • Collaboration with Kitchen Staff: Working effectively as part of a team in the kitchen will guarantee efficient meal preparation and service.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Certificate III or IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery)
  • Adaptable, passionate, and willing to learn
  • Collaborative and skilled at teamwork
  • Friendly and effective communication abilities
