This is a full-time role based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane with flexible working options.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will lead the performance and strategic direction of our SME portfolio—a key part of our Commercial Insurance offering.

This role offers the opportunity to shape portfolio outcomes through data-driven insights and strategic execution, with clear pathways for career progression.

  • Analyse portfolio performance using internal and external data sources to uncover actionable insights.
  • Develop and drive clear proposals for portfolio improvements, including tactical and strategic pricing changes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align initiatives with business strategy.
  • Engage with external stakeholders to enhance platform performance and broker connectivity.
  • Deliver and monitor initiatives that drive profitability, ensuring benefits are realised and sustained.
  • Create compelling data stories to communicate complex analytics to non-technical audiences.
  • Maintain awareness of claim trends and risk profiles to inform portfolio decisions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in General Insurance, preferably with an actuarial and/or analytics background.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Analytics, or Actuarial Science (desirable).
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to derive actionable insights from data.
  • Proficiency in Tableau, COGNOS, and other business intelligence tools.
  • Excellent communication and data storytelling capabilities.
  • Commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Curiosity and a mindset for continuous improvement and innovation.
