About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to join our TPS Operations Division at Toyota New Zealand. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in implementing quality frameworks to prevent defect outflow to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality frameworks to detect, contain, and prevent defects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify defect occurrence hotspots and assign recurrence prevention activities.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions to strengthen the quality assurance process.
  • Support QC leadership in implementing Kaizen opportunities and maintaining safety, quality, and productivity targets.
  • Manage Kaizen project budgets and schedules to meet divisional targets.
  • Participate in scheduling and planning activities for projects.
  • Monitor and analyze performance against targets for own area and recommend countermeasures where required.

Requirements

  • Degree qualification in engineering.
  • 4+ years' of accumulative engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance systems and/or Toyota Production System (TPS).
  • Familiarity with vehicle operation and systems, assembly methods, and quality requirements.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders.
