This is a dynamic opportunity to provide specialist mental health care in custodial settings to young people and their families/carers.
About the Role- Deliver evidence-based nursing care to young people in custody across a 24/7 rotating roster
- Provide specialist mental health nursing interventions, and effectively manage critical incidents and emergency situations
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based interventions
- Deliver mental health nursing care from a strengths-based framework
- Engage in therapeutic work, clinical practice, advocacy, group facilitation, and mentorship/preceptorship
- Bachelor's degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent
- Minimum of 12-24 months experience in an acute or subacute inpatient setting, preferably a graduate/transition year
- Ability to deliver personalised psycho-social care beyond the traditional medical model to facilitate recovery of young people
- Demonstrated commitment to a recovery approach in mental health treatment and support, with a focus on working collaboratively with consumers and families/carers
