Therapeutic Youth Worker

Lifestyle Solutions is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapeutic Youth Worker to join our care team in Karratha. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to children and young people in out-of-home care, promoting their well-being and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:- Meet the daily care needs of children and young people, including personal hygiene, health and well-being, medical, transportation, recreational and educational support.
- Contribute to a quality care environment that is safe, clean and personalised to each child or young person.
- Document events and developments related to the day-to-day provision of care.
- Ensure children and young people's needs are met through trauma-informed practices and supports.
- Provide positive behaviour support, therapeutic interventions and safety to children and young people who may experience events of escalation and crisis.
- Encourage social engagement, recreation and community involvement.
- Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualised support plans.
- Advocate for the rights and needs of children and young people.
- Support young people in developing essential life skills, including education, vocational training and independent living skills.
- Promote positive relationships and connections for children and young people with family, culture and community.
- Help children and young people reach developmental and life milestones towards a healthy, happy and thriving life.
We're looking for care team members who have a demonstrated passion for helping children and young people heal and grow through understanding and support. You'll have experience in offering support to individuals with disabilities and complex support needs, and be committed to meticulous documentation and reporting.
You'll understand the importance of trauma-informed care, consistency and stability in the lives of children and young people. You'll be adaptable and able to utilise a broad range of support strategies. You'll have a deep commitment to the safeguarding of vulnerable children and young people.
