Patient Support Associate

We are seeking a compassionate and hardworking Patient Support Assistant to join our team at Friendly Society Private Hospital. As a Patient Support Assistant, you will work closely with our Registered Nurses and support staff to provide the highest standard of healthcare to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with their hygiene-related needs, daily living activities, and mobility requirements under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Enhance patient safety by providing care to patients who may be suffering from cognitive impairment, exhibit challenging behavior, and/or may be at risk of falls.
- Perform physically demanding duties such as assisting with patient showering and mobility needs such as pushing wheelchairs.
- Work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Certificate III in Health Services Assistant or a similar qualification (highly desirable).
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, share information, and work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary health team.
- Previous experience working in a similar role within a healthcare or hospital environment (advantageous).
- Previous experience in assisting patients with disability and cognitive impairment (highly desirable).
- Experience in the management of activities of daily living within an aged care setting (highly desirable).
- Knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, compliance with Infection Control guidelines and practices (advantageous).
