Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Manager to join our team at 2XM Recruit. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for our employees and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement effective safety policies and procedures to minimize risks and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address safety issues, and lead daily pre-start meetings with company personnel and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with field experts to conduct risk assessments and create Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) documents.
- Consult with other duty holders, including Principal Contractors, customers, and managers, to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Manage injury and compliance investigations, and develop strategies to prevent future incidents.
- Develop and maintain documentation to meet requirements and minimize risks, including meeting minutes, action items, project schedules, and status reports.
- Certificate III in Health & Safety or higher qualifications.
- Strong understanding of construction or automation processes, and local site regulations and laws.
- Basic understanding of electrical installations and proficiency in MS Office programs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for training staff and advising on WHS strategies.
- Ability to identify hazards, control risks, and implement health and safety plans in the workplace.
- Experience in WHS, preferably in the construction industry, and experience working with unions or in automation businesses.
- Good understanding of coordinating the integration of new systems and processes on site.
- Ability to create, distribute, and maintain documentation to meet requirements and minimize risks.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
