The role of a Technical Specialist is to provide high-quality technical support for the configuration and documentation of P25 subscriber radio systems. This includes creating changes to the radio configuration, participating in customer meetings, and verifying testing to prove such configuration changes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving customer technical requirements with a national team of technical specialists. They will codeplug development and management including updating and maintaining associated documentation. Additionally, they will perform review and create a customer summary of new subscriber software and firmware releases. The candidate will also perform new firmware version compatibility regression testing, provide technical support for customers and internal stakeholders, contribute in meetings and interactions with stakeholders and customers, manage a standardized process of codeplug development and regression testing, and maintain applicable software tool/server versions.
Essential qualifications include a tertiary qualification in Electronics/Computer Systems Engineering or similar. Extensive industry experience will be considered as an alternative. A strong background in Motorola ASTRO P25 voice radio systems or other digital Land Mobile Radio systems, public safety-grade radio systems configuration, implementation, and operation, software/firmware regression testing, and codeplug development/management is required. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) is also essential. Highly desirable qualifications include in-depth technical experience with Motorola Astro 25 / Dimetra / DMR Digital radio systems and experience in a communications operations or network operations environment.
