Our Northern Specialist Family Violence Service (NSFVS) team provide the lead provision for the integrated family violence service system in the Northern Metropolitan sub-region.

The NSW Government's Family Violence Child Protection partnership represents a collaboration between Child Protection and SFV services in each of the 17 Department of Families, Fairness and Housing areas.

To strengthen and capability build Child Protections Family Violence practice, you will be responsible for secondary consultations in intake, investigations, case management and other phases within child protection. This includes:

  • Strengthening and building capacity through secondary consultations in intake, investigations, case management and other phases within child protection.
  • Supporting the implementation of the Family Violence reforms and MARAM across Child Protection to improve the safety and well-being of adult and child victim survivors.
  • Supporting and promoting improved understanding of the perpetrator's pattern of coercive control and its impact on children and the ability of the protective parent to safely parent.
  • Assisting Child Protection to navigate the family violence system and strengthening opportunities to divert children away from statutory responses.

This role requires experience in working collaboratively with other agencies and the community, as well as strong family violence frameworks and a focus on partnership work.

The successful candidate will have:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing strategies to strengthen and build capacity in child protection staff.
