UI Design Lead Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled UI Design Lead to establish and grow our new UI chapter. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building a high-performing team, cultivating design excellence, and leading visual design across our digital products.

About the Role
  • This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our digital investing experiences for millions of Australians.
  • You will work closely with talented Product and Interaction designers to deliver outstanding UI design within product squads.
Key Responsibilities
  • Define and lead the UI Chapter, establishing its mission, operating rhythm, and standards for visual and interaction design.
  • Cultivate design excellence by setting tangible goals for UI craft, consistency, and career progression.
  • Coach, develop, and retain talent, providing regular feedback and mentorship to foster growth in visual and interface design craft.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver consistent application of the design system across platforms and devices.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience designing beautiful, effective digital interfaces in agile product teams.
  • Proven ability to lead UI strategy in complex environments and mastery of typography, colour, layout, motion, and brand translation for digital products.
  • Experience establishing and driving adoption of design systems at scale, with a track record of coaching UI designers to improve their craft and career outcomes.
  • Advanced expertise in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, prototyping tools, and visual QA workflows, familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG), inclusive design principles, and digital compliance requirements.
