About the Role
The Senior Engagement Officer has lead responsibility for the delivery of international engagement across the Australian Government Department of Defence. This includes, but is not limited to, VIP visits, agreements and arrangements, exchanges, alumni engagement, and events. The role may involve strategic dialogues, gifting, branding, and engagement web presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to setting the strategic direction for Commander ADC's engagement priorities
- Deliver advice and solutions related to international and domestic engagement within the College
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including International Policy Division, universities, and representatives from various nations
About Our Team
The Engagement and Operations team is a high-performing team based at Weston Creek, supporting Commander Australian Defence College (ADC) and the ADC leadership team. The team is responsible for all aspects of domestic and international engagement, including event management, VIP visit coordination, strategic dialogue, and alumni management.

We are seeking a high-performing individual who can work independently with initiative to achieve high-quality engagement effects. The ideal candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to be part of a high-output team.
Requirements
- Experience dealing with diverse stakeholders with competing priorities

- Strong problem-solving skills, commitment to continuous improvement, and ability to analyze information to review trends
- Superior administration and coordination skills, preferably with experience in visits, events, and/or other key engagement activities
