Job Title

First Nations Strategy And Engagement Leader:

The role will be primarily responsible for engaging with and delivering outcomes for First Nations artists, music and culture within the NSW contemporary music sector.

Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across other government agencies, the music industry, and the community sector in NSW is key to this position.

  • Expert knowledge of government processes and stakeholder management expertise are essential for success in this complex role.
  • A solid network of trusted relationships with Aboriginal Elders, communities and organisations is required.

About You:

Seeking a professional with a strong understanding of the First Nations community and the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior management role.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship building.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong understanding of the NSW government's priorities and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with and deliver outcomes for First Nations artists, music and culture within the NSW contemporary music sector.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders across other government agencies, the music industry, and the community sector in NSW.
  • Work closely with the Head of Sound NSW to deliver strategic and operational priorities.
  • Anticipate and respond to opportunities, challenges and deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Aboriginality is an essential requirement of the role.
  • Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, and identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and be accepted as such by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community.
