Main Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the estimation team to ensure efficient and productive work
  • Promote and quote structural steel products and services
  • Coordinate, establish, and monitor steel quotes
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring structural steel strategies
  • Develop and monitor structural steel budgets
  • Liaise between clients and workshop for job amendments, progress, scheduling, etc.
  • Measure and provide quotations and consultation for structural steel products and services
  • Negotiate and follow-up with clients, builders, engineers, architects, and drafters on quotations and specifications
  • Liaise with customers and management regarding: Quotes, Orders, Pricing, Repricing, Amendments to drawings, Variations, Budgets
  • Provide estimations and quotations for steel lintels
  • Responsible for estimating Variation Order (VO's) for project managers
  • Process structural steel quotes into orders
  • Produce and maintain statistics on structural steel quotations
  • Phone sales and service
  • Identify and raise Improvement Notices
  • Implementation of corrective actions
  • Best Practices
  • Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals
  • Participate in organizational policies and procedures to maximize outputs
  • Monitor adherence to rules, regulations, and procedures
  • Assist systems manager to manage the Company's Quality Management System
  • Assist systems manager to manage the Company's WHS system
  • Work within and enforce the organizations Work Health & Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Work within and enforce the organizations Quality Management System

Requirements:

  • A third-level degree in estimating/quantity surveying/construction (or relevant degree)
  • Relevant experience in a similar industry (open to years of experience - can be junior/intermediate/senior)
  • Ideal candidate will have steel fabrication and erection industry experience
