About the Role:
The Coordinator Infrastructure & Development will lead the Infrastructure & Development team, providing technical guidance and ensuring that infrastructure meets the needs of the community. This role will be responsible for delivering key initiatives such as the Liveable Cities Strategy, Road Safety Strategy, Transport Action Plan, and the development of the Bicycle Strategy. You will also oversee infrastructure assessments and development approvals, manage inspections, and ensure that operational services are delivered at a high standard.
You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide specialist engineering advice on subdivision referrals, permits, capital works projects, and asset inspections. A key part of the role will involve preparing reports for the Council, advocating for capital works funding, and ensuring all services and projects are delivered efficiently, within budget, and aligned with strategic goals.
The Successful Applicant Will Have:
The ideal candidate will be a Registered Engineer with proven experience in infrastructure development and team leadership. You will have a strong understanding of the subdivision and development planning processes and the ability to provide technical advice on infrastructure projects. Experience in managing budgets, developing strategies and policies, and effective collaboration is essential. The ability to lead a team and engage with a range of stakeholders to achieve shared goals will be key to success in this role.
In addition, you will be able to balance the delivery of day-to-day operational services with the implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring that the council's infrastructure remains future-focused and aligned with community needs. Strong problem-solving skills, along with the ability to navigate changing priorities and drive continuous improvement, will also be critical.
