The NSW Government is seeking a qualified Clinical Psychologist to join the Alternate Care Clinic (ACC) in Western Sydney, delivering trauma-informed care to transform young lives in out-of-home care.

About the Role

This permanent part-time position offers an estimated salary of $53.23 - $64.88 per hour, with 24 hours per week, and is based at Westmead hospital in Western Sydney.

Job Description

This role involves providing comprehensive mental health services for children and young people in out-of-home care with complex needs, focusing on trauma-informed, systemic, and evidence-based approaches.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Comprehensive Assessments: Evaluate children's needs and care systems to develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Provide individual, group, and family therapy, focusing on trauma, attachment, and mental health.
  • Clinical Expertise: Emphasis on trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and evidence-based interventions like DBT and TF-CBT.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate care among carers, NGOs, schools, and other stakeholders for holistic support.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  1. Accredited post-graduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology.
  2. Full registration as a Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  3. Extensive experience in working therapeutically with children and young people with significant behavioural, emotional, mental health and/or psychosocial difficulties.
  4. Clinical experience working with children or adolescents in out-of-home-care and/or the child protection system.
